After the excitement of the December sales where our flag bearer Satwa Queen sold for 3.4million gns, things were a little tame. Its difficult to follow a class act like her, they do not come passed your door very often, but we'll keep hoping and trying.

The Lamprell Partnership now have several horses with Ed Dunlop in Newmarket. Most of them yearlings but one older horse Coeur de Lionne. He went to Dubai but for some reason did not perform well, mind you I'm not sure what sort of horse you need to win a race in the "Carnival" let alone WC day. He is heading for Royal Ascot.

Ed's horses in general have been firing on all cylinders. He has had one runner for us that ran better than expected and we have several well entered 2year olds with him.

The Lamprell 2 year olds in France have not been near a racecourse yet, but this is normal. The trainer likes to give them plenty of time. We expect the first runner in July.

The trainer is hoping lightening strikes more than once, having struck gold with Satwa Queen.

We have been busy. After the yearling and breeding stock sales things normally go quiet. But with sales nearly every week, things soon started to perk up. We purchased a very nice Horse Chestnut colt from Tatts breeze up, he is with Ed. I saw him last week and he looks the real deal.

Since then I have been to Brazil where I purchased a colt and a filly to race there in the first instance, America later on, with a long term view to perform in Dubai.

I also purchased an interesting filly in Uruguay. Bright Halo has won three GIII's and a GII at Moranos. After purchase she won her third GIII for her new owner, over 10f winning by 10 and change.

General opinion in Uruguay is that she is the new (female) Invasor, which is praise indeed. We are not getting carried away as he was a super star for Sheikh Hamdan and she has a very long way to go. She will stay in Uruguay, but will head for the US at some stage. The end destination being Dubai, if she makes the grade.

I will be going back to Brazil for a yearling sale on the 5th July. There are very very nice, value for money horses to be brought. Why not give me a call and discuss it?

South American horses have done well in Dubai over the last few years, as they have the advantage, "being Southern Hemisphere bred".

I hope I can bring you some good news in the coming months, enjoy your racing and stay safe.
